What the Heck of l.yimg.com is? Why l.yimg.com pop-up Keeps Coming up?
Recently, we Teesupport PC Help centre has
received many customers who have been attacked by l.yimg.com things. Here are
some examples collected by our stuff.
“When I try to go to Yahoo.com or
Yahoo.mail, I see that it is trying to access another site: l.yimg.com. But end
result is I cannot access Yahoo anything. I am a novice at computer
virus-spyware-adware detection and don't know what to do.”
“If I load it in Internet Explorer or on my
Droid 4, “Waiting for l.yimg” pop-up comes up right away. If I ping it from the
command prompt, it responds promptly.”
“Safari wouldn't load yahoo and stalled
when trying to pull info from l.yimg.com. So I installed Firefox. And it
worked...for about 3 weeks. Then it quit. The same thing happens. So I
installed Chrome. No access. 3 browsers, same machine, no access with the
"connecting to l.yimg.com" flag in the corner.”
After seeing these cases, we can know that l.yimg.com
mainly attacks users who use Yahoo browser. Many computer victims claim that if
they try to open Yahoo.com or Yahoo.mail, a loading page appears with words
like “transferring data from l.ymig.com” or “Waiting for l.yimg”
